What is this project?
Carcollectr is a social collection album for car enthusiasts: you document the cars you have owned, driven, or spotted on the street — with a photo, a story, and a note. Every entry becomes part of your personal collection and, at the same time, part of a shared archive of automotive moments.
Whether it's your first Golf GTI, a borrowed Porsche 911 for a weekend, or a rare BMW E30 M3 spotted on the roadside: Carcollectr gives each of these moments a permanent place instead of letting them fade away in your camera roll.
Why does it exist?
Because every car has a story. We believe that memories of cars are just as valuable as technical specs: the road trip with friends, your first own car, the chance encounter with a classic in everyday life.
Carcollectr combines a passion for collecting with community. You see what others discover, get inspired, and capture what moved you — from everyday heroes to dream cars.
How does collecting work?
1. Collect in three categories: Assign each entry as “Owned”, “Driven”, or “Seen / photographed”. This automatically builds a grouped collection on your profile — owned, driven, seen.
2. Remember with photo & note: Upload a picture, add the year, location, and a short note: where did you see the car? How did the drive feel? What makes this moment special?
3. Comment on it: Write a short note or comment for every entry: where did you spot the car? How did the drive feel? What makes this moment special? Your note is shown prominently on the post and on the detail page.
4. Share & discover: Every entry is accessible via its own detail page, can be commented on, and appears in the community feed as well as on the nearby map if you like. Earn badges for special discoveries and follow other collectors via their profiles.
